AP World History - Grade 11

Infinite Campus/Academic Planner Course Number: 9235

Social Studies for 11th and 12th grade is part of the thematic studies sequence of courses. This Advanced Placement course is taken in conjunction with the Thematic Studies Social Studies class in 11th grade.

The AP World History course is a year-long course that offers motivated students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the process that, over time, has resulted in the knitting of the world into a tightly integrated whole. AP World History offers an approach that lets students “do history” by guid- ing them through the steps an historian would take in analyzing historical events and evidence world- wide over a millennium. The course offers a truly balanced global coverage with Africa, the Americas, Asia and Europe represented. Students may choose to take the optional advanced placement exam at their own expense.

Prerequisite: Strong background in social studies
