Great American Rivers: Colorado River(even yrs)
This course is only offered trimester 1 during even calendar years.
Students in this short course will travel to the southwest states of Nevada, Arizona, and Utah, to paddle the Black Canyon Water Trail of the Lower Colorado River below the Hoover Dam. We will learn about rivers and dams in the desert. After our paddle, we will take our expedition to Zion National Park and Valley of Fire State Park to hike and investigate desert ecology and the geology of the area. Students will walk away with increased knowledge of physical and mental self, our surroundings, and skills for multi-day river travel.
