Why come here?

SES is such a warm place to be, there is so much positivity radiating through campus. The teachers are always providing positive reinforcement and celebrating our accomplishments. I would call it my little heaven on earth.

What does sustainability mean to you?

Sustainability for me is the ability to preserve our environment to the best of our individual or collective ability by reducing waste.

How do you practice sustainability?

I regularly recycle and I am mindful of my purchases to try to reduce waste.

What are some projects that you worked on at SES?

My senior project was about collecting previously owned clothes and shoes for orphaned and poor children. These children often have foot problems and I was able to collect a significant number of donations to help them. I also worked with Oak Ridge Elementary in starting their LEED certification program.

What has been the most impactful learning experience?

I have enjoyed learning about different cultures and spiritual connections with nature; coming to SES has allowed me to explore different ways of being. I have also enjoyed being involved in the interdisciplinary learning that allowed me to explore my passions and interests.
